The Heart of Christmas DinnerEvery December 25 since 2015, we've had the honor
of organizing the Asheboro, North Carolina community in coming together to spread the magic of Christmas. Hosted at the Randolph Senior Adults Association, THE HEART OF CHRISTMAS offers a free Christmas Day dinner and party for seniors without family nearby who would enjoy merry companionship. Guests also include empty nesters, and people who have suffered a loss and anticipate having trouble getting through the holidays. No one has to be alone on the most wonderful day of the year. |
FOR OUR DINNER GUESTS:
|
Local restaurants provide a sumptuous ham and turkey dinner with all the trimmings, topped off with savory fresh-baked breads. Volunteers bring yummy side dishes in abbondanza, along with a fantasyland of desserts. The feast is followed by bingo games, line dancing, carol singing, senior cheerleading, a visit from Elvis, and Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus delivering goody bags. All this thanks to a veritable army of volunteers and sponsors and generous donors from North Carolina to New York, ensuring a jolly time to be had by all! |
FOR OUR FRONT LINE WORKERS AND FIRST RESPONDERS:
VERY generous donations from anonymous Kris Kringles enable us to continue a truly inspired tradition
started in the pandemic year of 2020, when COVID prevented us from holding a traditional dinner: To show our community’s appreciation for first responders and frontliners, Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus deliver restaurant gift certificates to our courageous colleagues working on Christmas Day at Asheboro Fire Department, Asheboro Police Department, Ash-Rand Rescue Squad & EMS, Randolph County Emergency Services, Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, and Randolph Health Emergency Room. |
