Peggy Kilburn founded her own conference development / management company to plan and implement quality adult educational programs ranging from Executive Briefing Sessions to large-scale, multiple-track conferences.
Since 2011, Peggy served as Managing Director for WITI’s Women in Technology Hall of Fame Awards. As well, through June 2022 she was Program Director for the annual Women in Technology Summit produced by Women In Technology International (WITI). Most recently she was Conference Director for the Cyber Future Foundation’s Cyber Future Summit, as well as Conference Operations Director for Score Publishing's Digital Book World and Project Voice. She had assisted with speaker management for Care24.Global, a pioneering 24-hour virtual conference held consecutively in time zones around the globe, whose purpose was to meet the future with optimism. Earlier, Peggy was Program Manager for the second annual conference of the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel; prior to that she was Content Director for the Customer Engagement Technology World (CETW) conference and the CE365 e-newsletter, both produced by JD Events. A seasoned director of major conferences such as COMDEX, AppleFest, ComNet, Harvard Computer Graphics Week, and Softcon, Peggy was the founding conference director for MACWORLD EXPO and ran it for 14 years, zestfully growing the program to over 100 sessions with 375+ speakers. Throughout her career, she has developed and administered more than 2,500 programs for such clients as Boston University, Booz, Allen & Hamilton, CeBIT America, Clasma Events, Digital Equipment Corporation, Harvard University, LRP Publications, pulvermedia, Score Publishing, SRI International, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. She began her conference career with the American Public Health Association in Washington, DC. Having migrated from her New York roots, Peggy is an active community participant in her adopted home of Asheboro, North Carolina. Since 2015 she has helped the community organize a free, festive dinner party on Christmas Day for seniors without family nearby. The Heart of Christmas Dinner gathers some 250 guests and volunteers for merry companionship, along with a delicious meal and carol singing, bingo games, karaoke, line dancing, and gifties generously provided by local merchants and delivered by Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus. A zealous community theatre advocate, both onstage and behind the scenes, Peggy created the Facebook page Randolph On Stage to promote the theatre arts taking place in Randolph County, North Carolina - showcasing performances by RhinoLeap Productions, Randolph Youth Theater Company, and RSVP Community Theatre. She is also keenly interested in becoming a voice actor. Peggy holds a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from the University of South Carolina. |
